Caring, Fun, and Innovative Enviroment

Walt: write in paragraphs.

Glen Innes school is a caring, fun, environment. I have been at this school 8 years and I found out that Glen Innes was fantastic.

For the last few years everybody was taking care of everyone. If someone was getting bullied that person would been the first person to get sent to the principal's office. If you were a brand new person at our school we would've take that person all around the school and that person would’ve made loads of friends.

Our school is a very fun school. This year our principal, Mr Hendricks is taking the year 7 and 8’s to sports camp which is going to be loads of fun. There’s another reason why that our school is fun. The seniors have netbooks to do their work on. The netbook helps us seniors with our grades with homework and school assignments.

Glen Innes is also innovative like some of the kids did competitions like trash to fashion. Trash to fashion is when some of the students have to use recycled stuff and put it to fashion. Also one student had an brilliant idea to use a blower to try and make our stunt wheel which is a toy him and his class made. Unfortunately it didn’t work because the wind was too strong.

8 years is a long time. Glen Innes is a fun, caring and innovative which means original and it would be a great school for anyone to come to.

My Reflection For This Term

My Reflection for Term 1

This week, room 11 did  e-asttle tests on what we’ve been learning  for this term.

My strengths for reading were retrieving information very quickly, and  using previous knowledge. Overall I got an 4P, which is good.My gaps for reading were to read to understand the text, and to skim and scan  faster.  I really want to get  a 4A.I’ll have to learn from my mistakes.

The results for geometry and statistics was 4B which is alright. My strengths  in geometry test was  identifying 2D and 3D objects, and answer questions in statistics. My gaps were to explain reflections, rotations and symmetry. For geometry and statistics I want to get a 4A which will make my mum and myself happy..

My results for number and measurement was another 4b which is ok but I’m wasn’t happy. My strengths was to find perimeters and area of simple shapes, and use a rule to make predictions. My gaps were to solve story problems, and devise a strategy to solve a whole number problem. I want to get a 4A for this test but I’ll have focus on my work properly.

From  all the results from my test I’m at the National Standards which is fine with me. My goal for next term is to be at a 4A which will be above the national standard.

Making a Toy

Walt: make a toy.

Coming up with an idea to make a toy was pretty easy. Hearing the feedback from the principal who was the judge was disappointing. The mechanism I used in my toy was an axle and a pivot point. If I had a chance to change it, I’ll change it into a tyre swing. Materials was very easy to get like cardboard and kebab stick with a piece of string. Making a toy was fun, exciting and I want to learn about how the 5 mechanisms  are used in cars.

Food Tech

Walt: Making different foods around the world.

At food tech, I enjoyed making different kinds of food from different countries like Chili Con Carne. The thing I really disliked was making chinese stir fry which was too oily and greasy. After cooking the food for the week our cooking teacher would ask us to make this food at home and I do and my family enjoys it. The next dish I want to learn and make is something from Greece.

Angry Bird Painting

Walt: integrate art and topic.

I choose to draw this picture because it was simple and easy. The medium I use was paint. We had to do a research about easy simple toys to draw and paint. The best part was to look at everyones work which was stunning.
